What does the chamber do?

Why should I join the chamber?

As a member, do I have to attend every event?
Not at all. Your membership exists to help provide you with connections to build your business. Any and all benefits, including events, are up to you to take advantage of when you are able.
I can't attend the socials; how else can I take advantage of my membership?
There is so much more to your membership than our monthly socials including benefits that can save you money on everything from gas and diesel to payroll services or group insurance and much more; business building luncheons, seminars and workshops to help you gain important business skills and knowledge and much more. How do I find out what's happening with the chamber?

If I have any issues with government policy, can the chamber help?
Yes! We work to bring your voice to all levels of government and would love to hear your thoughts. Contact Deb today, and learn more about how we do this.

Event Related Questions
Is there a cost to attend chamber socials?
If you are the employer or an employee of a business that is a current member, you may attend our socials for free. If you are currently not a member with the chamber, you can attend up to two socials for $10 (cash only) each time. After that, we require that you become a member in order to continue taking advantage of this great member benefit.
Can anyone from my business attend a chamber event?
Absolutely! You membership applies to all staff of your company.
Can I bring a guest?
We encourage you to bring a guest with you to the next chamber social. Just remember, if your guest's business is not a current member with the Kamloops Chamber, they will need to pay the $10 drop-in fee.
What is appropriate attire for the socials?
Our events are business dress to business casual. Think dress pants, suit jackets, dresses and blazers. Coming directly from a work environment where your dress is different than this? Come as you are!
Who hosts socials/how can I host a social?
All socials take place at a current member's business. As a member, you can sign up to host a social at your place of business, provided the size and space works for the event. Contact our Events Coordinator for more information.
Who are the Membership Council and what do they do?
The membership council exists to help you connect with other businesses. If you feel like you would like assistance to meet others at our events; are looking to connect with a particular person, business or type of business; or just need some helpful networking tips, our Membership Council is there for you. Look for the orange name tags at our events, or ask one of our staff to point them out to you.
