    Criteria: This project must:

    • have been completed within the 12 months prior to the nomination submission
    • demonstrate a significant contribution or investment to the economic and social impact to the Kamloops region

    Kamloops Home Hardware | Not For Profit of the Year
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area not-for-profit organization must:

    • be incorporated as a legitimate society or charitable organization.
    • demonstrate outstanding contributions to the community.
    • show benefits of service and how they set their organization apart

    Thompson Rivers University School of Business and Economics | Young Entrepreneur of the Year 
    Criteria: Nominee must:

    • be the founder or owner of a company and be 35 years of age or younger at the time of the nomination submission.
    • have demonstrated a high level of entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, perseverance, creativity and determination to be successful

    Tourism and Hospitality Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business organization must:

    • offer a tourism or hospitality product or service that promotes the Kamloops region as a destination.
    • have demonstrated collaboration with other tourism industry partners to enhance a visitor’s experience.

    BCLC | Technology Innovator Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business or not-for-profit must:

    • have adopted, developed or innovatively used technology that makes a positive impact for their consumers or their business.

    Service Provider 11+ Staff Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business must:

    • demonstrate a history of positive customer feedback
    • have a comprehensive, ongoing employee training program

    Service Provider 1 - 10 Staff Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business must: 

    • demonstrate a history of positive customer feedback 
    • have a comprehensive, ongoing employee training program

    Valley First Insurance | Retailer 11+ Staff Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business must:

    • demonstrate a history of exemplary customer service
    • demonstrate a strong customer service training program
    • have a reputation of excellent product knowledge

    Aberdeen Mall | Retailer 1 - 10 Staff Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business must: 

    • demonstrate a history of exemplary customer service 
    • demonstrate a strong customer service training program 
    • have a reputation of excellent product knowledge

    Domtar | Resource Industry Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business is involved in the resource sector or provides services or supplies to the resource industry. They have demonstrated success through:

    • innovation
    • a quality product or service
    • excellent customer and/or employee relationships.

    BDC | Manufacturer Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area manufacturer must:

    • demonstrate innovation and excellence in manufacturing
    • exhibit a long-standing history of excellence in the area of employee safety
    • have a reputation as an industry leader in their respective market

    Venture Kamloops | Small Business of the Year
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area, non-franchised business with 1-10 full-time employees has demonstrated success through:

    • quality products or services
    • innovation and/or creativity
    • excellent customer and/or employee relationships.

    Open Door Group | Inclusive Workplace Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business organization must demonstrate:

    • inclusive hiring practices
    • a dedication to provide ongoing training opportunities that increase workplace skills
    • a focus on an inclusive culture • a minimum equivalent of five full-time employees


    Rocky Mountaineer | Environmental Stewardship Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business or not-for profit organization must be able to demonstrate at least one green practice in three or more of the following categories:

    • Waste prevention
    • Recycling
    • Purchasing
    • Energy and water conservation
    • Involving stakeholders(employees, customers and/or suppliers)in greening your business
    • Transportation
    • Operations
    • Other Relevant contributions stipulated in the nomination shall be ongoing and have occurred within the twelve month period prior to the date of the nomination.

    River City Nissan | Employer of the Year
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business must demonstrate:

    • exceptional commitment to its employees through competitive employment packages
    • a dedication to provide professional development and/or advancement opportunities
    • a focus on workplace culture and work/life balance, as well as employee recognition and reward programs • that they have a minimum of five full-time employees

    City of Kamloops | Community Service Award
    Criteria: This Kamloops-based business has:

    • voluntarily engaged in activities that enhance the quality of life in the community and supports these endeavors through personal time and/or resources.
    • created a corporate culture of giving with an emphasis on community volunteerism unrelated to their core mandate.


    Excel Personnel | Business Person of the Year
    Criteria: This Kamloops-area business person must:

    • be the founder, owner, CEO, President or Senior Executive of a company(ies)
    • demonstrate positive economic and/or social impact on the region
    • exemplify a civic community leadership role
