Record number of nominations received for 2010 Business Excellence Awards
Nominations for the 2010 Business Excellence Awards have officially closed with a record number of submissions.
“The Chamber has been inundated with emails over the past six weeks,” stated Peter Aylen, President of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce. “This year we received 344 nominations –up 5% from last year.” A total of 214
2010 marks the 25th anniversary of the Business Excellence Awards which is an annual event brought to the community by the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce and TD Canada Trust Small Business Banking. The event celebrates the
“We want to thank TD Canada Trust Small Business Banking for supporting the process by allowing nomination stations to be set up in each of the TD banks throughout the city,” continued Mr. Aylen.
The gala awards banquet and ceremony is scheduled for October 23rd at the Kamloops Convention Centre. “This is a sell-out event and is a very exciting evening. The media are all invited to attend and everyone from the business community is there,” stated Aylen.
The timeline leading up to the gala event is as follows:
- Early September – Holiday Inn & Suites hosts a breakfast for the Chamber’s selection committee, comprised of over 40 business leaders. This committee deliberates over all the nominees’ information and chooses the top 3 finalists in each award category.
- Mid September – All nominees are invited to attend a press conference at the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce, where the finalists are revealed.
- October 23 – Business Excellence Awards Gala at
