Nominees for 2011 Business Excellence Awards announced

 

Nominations for the 2011 Business Excellence Awards have been received and today the Chamber released the list of all nominees.

 

“This year we received 272 nominations for fifteen award categories,” stated Peter Aylen, President of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce.  “A total of 180 Kamloops businesses were nominated.”

 

The 26th annual Business Excellence Awards are brought to the community by the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce and TD Canada Trust. The event celebrates the Kamloops business community and highlights 16 award winners in total (Business of the Year is chosen from the winners of the other 15 awards).

 

“We want to thank TD Canada Trust for supporting this program,” continued Mr. Aylen.  “We value TD’s partnership and their dedication to our community.”

 

The gala awards banquet and ceremony is scheduled for October 22nd at the Kamloops Convention Centre.  “This is a sell-out event and is a very exciting evening.  The media are all invited to attend and all the leaders from the business community will be there,” stated Aylen.

 

The timeline leading up to the gala event is as follows:

  • August – An independent selection committee, comprised of over 40 business leaders, scores each nominee 
  • Early September – KPMG tabulates the scores and informs the selection committees of their top 3 finalists in each award category
  • September – Selection committee interviews all the finalists to determine the award recipients
  • September 7 – Finalists are revealed at the Chamber social hosted by SIFE TRU at the Campus Activity Centre Terrace Room
  • September 8 – Tickets go on sale to the public
  • October 22 – Business Excellence Awards Gala at Kamloops Convention Centre
