Kamloops Chamber to host Rail Ties, Real Issues:
A public forum on the Aboriginal Cogeneration project

The Kamloops Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present Kamloops residents with an opportunity to attend a forum regarding the proposed gasification plant in Kamloops.

“The proposal by Aboriginal Cogeneration Corp. to build a gasification plant for processing waste railway ties has created one of the biggest public controversies in Kamloops in recent years,” states Leslie Brochu, president of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber brings together, for the first time, ACC president Kim Sigurdson and the Ministry of Environment to participate in a public forum and information session.

The evening’s agenda includes presentations from each organization, after which the public will have an opportunity to ask questions.  Questions will be permitted in both written and oral forms.

Murray Young, Chamber director and TRU Dean of the School of Business and Economics, will moderate.

There is no charge for the event. The public is invited to attend. No promotional materials will be allowed inside the forum room.
