Business Excellence Awards Winners Announced at Gala

 

At the 24th annual gala at Thompson Rivers University Grand Hall on Saturday, October 17th, the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce | TD Canada Trust awarded 15 star awards to the winners of the 2009 Business Excellence Awards.

 

“It was en exciting night for everyone,” said Chamber President Leslie Brochu.  “Every year we see new businesses and new business leaders come to the forefront in the business community.  It’s a pleasure to be able to showcase them in this way.”

 

Nominations were received from Kamloops citizens for 213 local businesses among a record total of 329.  

 

Timeline Facts:

  • Three finalists in each of 14 awards were selected by a committee consisting of 40 business organizations and leaders in our city. 
  • Winners of these 14 awards were chosen by Chamber members who voted online from a list of finalists. 
  • The winner of the Business of the Year Award was decided upon by the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from the nominees of the other awards. 
  • A sixteenth category, The President’s Award, was chosen by the Chamber’s President, Leslie Brochu.
